The current COVID-19 crisis hugely impacts education for students. Where possible, we want to ensure more education is organized on campus. The upscaling and downscaling of on-campus education is largely dependent on the number of infections. We will monitor this closely and focus on clear communication towards students.
Last year, the boards of TU Delft, Erasmus MC and Erasmus University Rotterdam made agreements to structurally strengthen their collaboration in the form of a convergence. During this year, we will ensure that this alliance not only has a positive impact on research, but also on students and that the identity of the Delft engineer will be protected. Next to the TUD-EMC-EUR convergence, we are also involved in the Leiden Delft Erasmus (LDE) alliance.
The number of students at the TU Delft has doubled over the last 10 years, which can have massive consequences all around campus. We are working to balance the constraints, both physical and well-being, of a growing student population with our duty to educate engineers for the future.
The Binding Study Advice (BSA) is an important milestone for BSc students. We want to ensure that it remains fair for students.
As a required part of the BSc curriculum, it is important that students have access to accurate and useful information about the opportunities to choose from.
MSc students make up a significant portion of the TU Delft community. And even though every program has a certain level of autonomy, it is important that no one falls between the cracks, especially in the thesis process.
It’s impossible to escape the need for IT services at TU Delft; it is a vital aspect of studying. We work with the IT department on projects that directly impact education. We are giving feedback on plans for Brightspace and proposing new functionalities to make the platform even better for students. Furthermore, we are investigating the possibilities of Grammarly and Adobe licenses for students.
For students seeking more challenges outside their studies, it is important that TU Delft facilitates them with supplementary courses to help them achieve further goals. This can be in the form of Honors Programs offered at various faculties.
Though it may not mean much to the everyday lives of students, university policy shapes our institution and sets the tone for the entire community. Because of this, we are involved in giving feedback on policy and ensuring student interests are represented in decision-making.
Only receiving high-quality education is not enough to start your entrepreneurship journey. Students with innovative ideas should be facilitated by the university to be able to bring and present their unique solutions to the world. This is exactly what we at Lijst Bèta strive for!

Campus facilities encompasses every physical aspect of the campus, from study places to catering facilities, lecture halls, and even traffic flow on campus. Having the right facilities ensures you can study in the way that works for you.
Lijst Bèta believes that it is the duty of the university to educate engineers who can deal with the challenges of tomorrow. Climate change is one of these problems. We also want to work towards a TU Delft that leads by example and create a more sustainable campus.
International students can face very different challenges when coming to TU Delft compared to their Dutch counterparts. There must be special attention for the needs and concerns of these students in order for them to thrive at TU Delft.
TU Delft holds a prominent position in the global academic community, which attracts students and researchers from all over the world. It is, therefore, crucial that the university manages internationalization in a sustainable manner that ensures we still provide a high-quality education.
Everyone’s education can be improved by bringing more perspectives and experiences to the table. TU Delft is a very diverse community of people and we want to do our utmost to ensure that everyone feels welcome here.
The university budget is presented every year. As the Student Council has the right of consent on the headlines of this budget, we are closely involved in this process.
There are several legal documents within the university that help students understand their rights and obligations at TU Delft, including the Teaching and Exam Regulations. These must be reviewed and re-approved each year to ensure they keep up with national legislation and the changing face of the university.
Quality assurance ensures that TU Delft continues to provide education of a high quality. This encompasses many aspects, including course evaluations, accreditation, and monitoring student satisfaction via surveys.

With the abolishment of the basisbeurs, money allocated for study financing is now being directed back to the universities to be spent on improving the quality of education. Part of these agreements is that the Student Council is responsible for finding projects that meet the guidelines set by the government.
No one should be expected to push through their study alone. We want to make sure that everyone has the right resources to turn to when they need help, whether that’s a study buddy or psychologist, or something in between. Student well-being is an important aspect as well.
Education often begins with the lecturer, so it is vital that TU Delft continuously pursues opportunities for lecturers to improve their teaching. Life Long Learning programs or improvements to the basic qualification for education (BKO) are important aspects of teacher quality.
Study Climate has to do with student well-being and the workload in your study
TU Delft aims to increase the study efficiency by taking several measures which mostly focuses on decreasing the number of years it takes for students to finish their studies. However, at Lijst Bèta we believe “study success” should be better defined as “student success” and other important measures should be taken into account for determining a student as successful besides the years it took them to finish their study.
Lijst Bèta believes that it is the duty of the university to educate engineers who can deal with the challenges of tomorrow. This is why at Lijst Bèta we believe that there should be more attention for sustainability in all curricula at TU Delft.
Lijst Bèta thinks that education should be more than just sitting in a lecture hall, listening to someone reading from a PowerPoint presentation. We are actively looking into how new education methods, such as blended learning and interdisciplinary projects, can strengthen the TU Delft education.
Soft skills are becoming an increasingly important asset of the Delft Engineer. We want to see room for self development within the curricula.

Treasurer
The faction support is primarily tasked with managing the faction’s internal affairs, which include sponsorship acquisition, succession, and general planning.
For the student council, it is important to know what is being decided in The Hague, why, and, where possible, influence the decision-making process. We are closely involved with national organizations to maintain a connection to the national discussions on education.
